We have been following this principle since the foundation of the company: High-quality food comes from intact landscapes and healthy animals. For Havelland Express, regional is not a fashionable label, but a question of attitude and part of our DNA. Healthy, aromatic and transparent: There are many good reasons why regional variety of flavors still forms the core of our range today.
WE KNOW OUR SUPPLIERS
We work exclusively with partners who share our values and value good produce as much as we do. We know all producers personally and know how regional food is produced. We regularly visit them on-site to see it for ourselves. Furthermore, we constantly develop new sustainable concepts in discussions with farmers, livestock farmers, and fishermen.
SUSTAINABILITY
We demonstrate sustainability throughout our production and logistics, which is ISO and EMAS-certified. Resource-conserving agriculture and species-appropriate animal husbandry are particularly important to us. We are committed to preserving regional species and pay attention to the sensible rearing, slaughtering, and butchering of animals. For us, sustainability doesn’t stop at national borders. Together with our chocolate partner Original Beans, we are committed to fair trade, climate protection, and transparent supply chains. Our Chocolate Foodprint 2024 clearly shows how enjoyment and responsibility go hand in hand.
Our 2024 results with Original Beans:
- 6,400 trees preserved or newly planted
- 4,072,478 kg of CO₂ bound
- 21,205 kg of cocoa beans sourced through direct trade
- 3.4 to 5.2 times the living income paid to cocoa farmers
