Revolutionising the world of confectionery - no more, no less - is the driving force behind our Bavarian manufacturer of vegan macaroons. From the very beginning, LA MARA's award-winning founders, Max and Tamara, set out to pioneer a stylish yet sustainable system of cocoa farming and chocolate production. For many years they experimented with plant-based recipes to create the ultimate explosion of flavours. "Vegan? That can't possibly taste good!" - we've all heard. But LA MARA impressively proves that it can be different. Using natural ingredients - without any chemicals - they have created what may be the best plant-based macarons for our customers.
WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL?
The organic cocoa used in the creamy fillings of these macarons comes from sustainable, eco-friendly cocoa forests, mainly in Peru and Ecuador. Together with their partner, Original Beans, who have also been working with HavEx for many years, LA MARA ensures that the cocoa farmers are paid a fair wage (3.5 times the standard market price) and avoids monocultures altogether. Instead, they focus on mixed forests that benefit the ecosystem and provide farmers with an additional income from other fruits alongside cocoa.

Because we eat with our eyes first, the frozen macaroons are packaged with such care and precision that their quality remains completely intact. This ensures that their shape and colour are perfectly preserved and harmonise beautifully with the exquisite flavours of their fillings - including pistachio, raspberry and passion fruit. 110% taste and elegant aesthetics without compromise! And all handmade. This is our producer's credo, and LA MARA does not deviate from it by a millimetre.
