WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL?
The organic cocoa used in the creamy fillings of these macarons comes from sustainable, eco-friendly cocoa forests, mainly in Peru and Ecuador. Together with their partner, Original Beans, who have also been working with HavEx for many years, LA MARA ensures that the cocoa farmers are paid a fair wage (3.5 times the standard market price) and avoids monocultures altogether. Instead, they focus on mixed forests that benefit the ecosystem and provide farmers with an additional income from other fruits alongside cocoa.
