Restaurant 1811
Berlin tradition meets modern craftsmanship
Located in the heart of Charlottenburg, at Schlüterstraße 55, lies a culinary gem that delights Berlin’s food enthusiasts: Restaurant 1811. Formerly known as “Lutter & Wegner since 1811,” the establishment has transformed under the leadership of Richard Reichelt into a modern yet tradition-conscious restaurant that impresses with artisanal finesse and warm hospitality.
German‑Mediterranean with soul: The cuisine at 1811 is a tribute to grandmother’s recipes, refined with French and Mediterranean influences. Whether glazed belly of Havelland apple pork, Wiener schnitzel with potato salad, or monkfish in saffron foam – every dish is an experience. Ingredients are primarily sourced from regional producers; vegetables and herbs come from the greater Berlin area.
Country inn meets urban chic: The interior of 1811 combines cozy retro elements with a modern touch. Warm shades of green, dark wood, white tablecloths, and candlelight create an inviting atmosphere. Guests are meant to feel “like visiting friends.”

Moments of indulgence at Restaurant 1811
Here, Richard Reichelt has created a culinary living room: 1811, where the heart of the house beats in the kitchen, and where he inspires guests with dedication and precision. Born in Bielefeld, he gained experience working with top chefs such as Bernhard Grubmüller at Tomatissimo, later cooked with Michael Hoffmann at Margaux, and took on his first head chef position at WeinGut in Schöneberg.
Since February 2022, he has been host and head chef at 1811. After taking over Lutter & Wegner, he has led the restaurant with the goal of uniting tradition and modernity. The cuisine is based on grandmother’s recipes, enriched with French and Mediterranean influences, with a strong focus on quality, regionality, and artisanal preparation. Every dish tells a story — from cured sturgeon with chervil to pike-perch with saffron or the Wiener schnitzel with Swabian potato salad — everything should taste exactly as good as it looks.
