Christopher Kümper – a fine‑tuned culinary captain on the Spree
On board the enchanting restaurant ship PATIO Berlin, Christopher Kümper leads the kitchen – a chef who impresses with passion, precision and international experience. Since 2023, the Sauerland‑born chef has shaped the restaurant’s fine‑dining profile and brought fresh energy to Berlin’s culinary scene.
His career reads like a journey through the world of haute cuisine: positions with luminaries such as Daniel Boulud in New York, André Chiang in Singapore, Heinz Otto Wehmann in Hamburg and Nils Henkel in Bergisch Gladbach have shaped his style – cosmopolitan, precise and full of finesse. In 2017, he was named “Berlin Newcomer of the Year” by the Berlin Master Chefs jury.
One ingredient he particularly loves to work with is Hamachi from King Fish – the Japanese yellowtail he serves raw as sashimi, lightly torched or refined with Asian flavors. His cuisine is defined by seasonality, balance and depth – and an unwavering love for detail.
