Vanilla – the true kind from Madagascar
During a visit to her home country, our supplier Andréa and her husband Stefan first had the idea of founding their own start-up in 2016. The motivation behind it was that many of Andréa’s relatives in Madagascar are vanilla farmers and exporters. Inspired by this idea, the two spent the following years immersing themselves in the world of Madagascan Bourbon vanilla, its cultivation and its export.
On the farm of Andréa’s grandfather in northern Madagascar, all cultivation and harvesting of the Bourbon vanilla pods is carried out. As a wholesaler, we at Havelland Express are now able to introduce the exquisite products of this sustainable family business to high-end gastronomy and hospitality — something that genuinely makes us happy.
